In 2010, as I was scrolling through Facebook and a new page was suggested to me.
Humans of New York (HONY) was created by Brandon Stanton, a photographer with a goal to take 10,000 photos of New Yorkers (Humans of New York, n.d.), however, HONY social media has become more than the photographs of his subjects but about their stories and the connections created throughout the world.
Other pages like PostSecret, allows users to anonymously tell their secrets on postcards that are then mailed in and shared on social media with the sender's permission.
Everyone has a story to tell and social media has made it easier for users to connect with other likeminded people.
